A short official introduction to the score
The official WANTED site features a five-song studio EP from the Wanted Studio Cast. Its tracks are “Wide Open Plains,” “The Train,” “Gun & Powder,” “The Way I Am,” and “Freedom.” The release runs about fifteen minutes and offers a compact preview rather than a complete cast recording.
The site says a full cast album has not been announced. That distinction matters: the EP is an official release, but it is not the same thing as a recording of the entire Broadway production. Check the production’s own music page for updates rather than assuming a full album is available.
Musical colors and story
The creative team describes the work as a new American musical. The story’s Texas setting and the sisters’ struggle for family security provide room for contrasting musical textures, from intimate moments to larger ensemble passages. The Kinfolk add a collective vocal presence that connects the sisters’ present choices to memory and ancestry.
A useful first listen is to notice how track titles suggest setting, movement, and the sisters’ changing circumstances. You can discuss those musical impressions without quoting lyrics or treating a song title as a plot summary.
Listen, then plan your visit
Use the official studio EP for the released tracks and the Broadway performance for the complete staged experience. Track lists and arrangements can differ between developmental versions and Broadway, so the currently published official material is the safest guide.
