Jessica Parks between courtroom and home
Jessica Parks is a London Crown Court judge who wants the legal system to be fairer. Her work is only one part of her life: she is also a mother and a friend, and the play tests how those commitments fit together.
A sudden event disrupts her carefully balanced world. The story’s tension comes from watching a person used to weighing evidence face a private situation that cannot be resolved by courtroom procedure.
The Broadway company and creative team
Rosamund Pike stars as Jessica Parks. Jamie Glover plays Michael Wheatley, and Cormac McAlinden plays Harry Wheatley. Suzie Miller wrote the play and Justin Martin directs the Broadway production.
Miller’s earlier play Prima Facie also examined law, testimony, and the limits of systems built to deliver justice. Inter Alia stands on its own story while continuing the playwright’s interest in how institutions and intimate lives collide.
